Description
The Colville Community Garden is a non-profit organization sponsored by St. Paul Lutheran Church.
The 1-acre fenced garden features running water, a community shed, a compost area, and will soon have a play area with a boat sandbox and toys. It shares a parking lot with the Colville Rotary Trail. In Spring of 2012, a gazebo was added to provide shade for gardeners and garden visitors.
The garden has more than 80 medium and large plots, plus raised beds for gardeners with limited mobility. Plot rental is from $15 to $40 per season, and for those on a tight budget, some plots were prepaid by a generous donation. Currently there are no prepaid funds
Upon entering the garden you are greeted by "Miss Purdy", a permanent garden resident, who welcomes you to a common relaxation area bordered by flower beds and ornamental trees, a garden bench and a 10'x10' gazebo with a picnic table. Further down, there are raised garden beds and medium and large plots. There is a community shed with garden hoses, wheel barrows, and a variety of tools to help your garden be a success. There is also an information/message board and volunteer log book at the shed.
